Information:
In the near future this site will be used to post messages about what is going on is everyone's lives, to post pictures and other stuff. If you would like something posted, picture or letter, send it to alice@goeke.net. If it is a picture and you don't have the facilities to scan it in, I have a scanner and I am willing to scan it, but snail mail gets lost and bend so pictures are not the greatest thing to send in the mail. None the less I will do it.

This site is and always will be under construction.

Those people who plan on sending e-mail to a lot of people remember some pieces or e-mail etiquette. 1.) If you plan on quoting some part of the message you are referring to, only quote the necessary part. 2.) Fwd's are NOT appreciated by the majority of people. I personally do not mind getting a poem or something if it is relevant to a situation, but I do NOT what to see who it was sent to the last 100 time. Basically if you must send "Fwds" cut and paste. 3.) Chain letters are not a good use of bandwidth. Do NOT send chain letters. If you do there may be retaliating by some people against you
Thanks for everyone's cooperation

Notes to all:

I can't lie and say that the last 2 weeks of my life have not changed me, because they have changed me forever. Every person that I talked to, everyone that said hello had some effect on me. I have become very close to so many people through Summer Institute. When we had to say good bye we all cried, but still in our good bye we said see ya. Like it was just another day and that we would soon be together again like we were hours ago. But this time it was different. We were all leaving. But I know that some time in our life we will all see each other again. When we do see each other we may not even know it is us, that we live together for 2 weeks some years ago. Or that meeting might be a time to reminus about the old days at SIAS and talk about what directions our lives have taken.  No matter what happens in the future I know that all the people that have changed my life and that have become a second family for me will be there if I need them. Just remember pictures may be lost or torn, but you memories can not be stolen or lost.

A Piece Of My Heart
A piece of my heart
is in room 272
A piece of my heart
is in Kalamazoo
A piece of my heart
went home with you

A piece of my heart
I lost on the dance floor
A piece of my heart
is running through the boys corridor
A piece of my heart
is on the western shore

A piece of my heart
left on your shoulder in a tear
A piece of my heart
wishes you were near
A piece of my heart
I left with the friends I hold dear

A piece of my heart
is pinned on my sleeve
A piece of my heart
begged me not to leave
A piece of my heart
 knows that I am naive

A piece of my heart
fell out walking up the hills
A piece of my heart
remembers the sprinklers chill
A piece of my heart
is in the twigs still

A piece of my heart
was danced on in the hall
A piece of my heart
wants to give you a call
A piece of my heart
is in the showers...so small

A piece of my heart
is in room 272
A piece of my heart
is in Kalamazoo
A piece of my heart
went home with you.

Love ya

The speech by Paul Harvey read at the Youth Violence Summit

Paul Harvey read this on his radio show.

For the life of me, I can't understand what could have gone wrong in Littleton, Colo. If only the parents had kept their children away from the guns, we wouldn't have had such a tragedy. Yeah, it must have been the guns.
It couldn't have been because of half our children are being raised in broken homes.
It couldn't have been because our children get to spend an average of 30 seconds in meaningful conversation with their parents each day. After all, we give our children quality time.
It couldn't have been because we treat our children as pets and our pets as children.
It couldn't have been because we place our children in day care centers where they learn their socialization skills among their peers under the law of the jungle while employees who have no vested interest in the children look on and make sure that no blood is spilled.
It couldn't have been because we allow our children to watch, on average, seven hours of television a day filled with the glorification of sex and violence that isn't fit for adult consumption.
It couldn't have been because we allow our children to enter into virtual worlds in which, to win the game, one must kill as many opponents as possible in the most sadistic way possible.
It couldn't have been because we have sterilized and contracepted our families down to sizes so small that the children we do have are so spoiled with material things that they come to equate the receiving of the material with love.
It couldn't have been because our children, who historically have been seen as a blessing from God, are now being viewed as either a mistake created when contraception fails or inconveniences that parents try to raise in their spare time.
It couldn't have been because we give two-year prison sentences to teen-agers who kill their newborns.
It couldn't have been because our school systems teach the children that they are nothing but glorified apes who have revolutionized out of some primordial soup of mud by teaching evolution as fact and by handing out condoms as if they were candy.
It couldn't have been because we teach our children that there are no laws of morality that transcend us, that everything is relative and that actions don't have consequences. What the heck, the president gets away with it.
It couldn't have been because we will give clean needles to drug addicts and safe places to kill themselves.
Nah, it must have been the guns.
